The High Coast Vocational College is a municipal education provider and has been conducting post-secondary education since 1996.

We are now looking for an educator in psychiatry for the training program Psychiatric Specialized Nursing Assistant with Addiction Competence – a 1-year part-time distance education that started in 2018 and has been developed together with the industry in psychiatric and addiction care. The program has been awarded the rating "Very high quality" by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education (MYH).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an educator in psychiatry at the vocational college, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching primarily in psychiatry. You create and develop lecture materials and assignments, supervise students, and are responsible for knowledge assessments and feedback.

The role also involves addressing harmful use and addiction as well as comorbidity based on the program's content and objectives to contribute to the cohesive whole of the education.

You work in close dialogue and collaboration with the program leader and other teachers to ensure high quality and continuity in the education.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse, preferably with further education in psychiatry, or a social worker with good knowledge and experience in psychiatry. Other relevant education that the employer assesses as equivalent may also be considered.

Pedagogical education or experience in teaching and supervision is meritorious, as is experience working with – or otherwise meeting – the target group in psychiatric and addiction care. Knowledge of legal aspects related to care and support (e.g., SoL and coercive legislation) is also meritorious.

Your personal qualities and competencies are highly valued. You have a strong commitment and interest in contributing to and developing education in psychiatric and addiction care.

We also see that you:

• Have a good ability to plan and prioritize to meet deadlines and achieve set goals.
• Are communicative and have a good ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

The work is largely digital, which means that good computer skills and familiarity with Office 365, especially Word and PowerPoint, are prerequisites.
